We will only keep what we need.

Thread Festival Norwich runs this site and the email newsletter. Questions about your data go to hello@threadfestivalnorwich.com.

What we collect

When you sign up to the email newsletter: your email address, your name if you give it, which parts of the festival you are interested in and which page you signed up from. We also keep a record of when you agreed to hear from us and the exact wording you agreed to. We don’t collect anything else through the form.

Why we use it

By signing up to our newsletter you agree that we can email you with the latest festival news. Nothing else. We never sell or share the newsletter list for other people’s marketing.

Our lawful basis

Your consent, which you give by signing up to the newsletter (the wording above the button says what you are signing up to) and then confirming through the link we email you. You can withdraw it at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any email.

Where it is stored

The subscriber list is held in a Supabase database hosted in London. The website is hosted by Vercel, and our emails are sent through Resend. Each acts as a processor under contract and only handles the data to run their service for us. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, it does so under safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

If you don’t confirm your email, we delete your details within 30 days. Otherwise we keep them until you unsubscribe, or until the email newsletter is no longer needed for the festival, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address, so we know not to email you again.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete it. You can also ask us to stop using it. Email us and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and analytics

We don’t use cookies. To see how many people visit, we use Vercel Web Analytics. For each page view it records the page, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (country and city). It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t follow you across other sites, and isn’t tied to your IP address. Visits are grouped using a short-lived anonymous code that is discarded after 24 hours, and we only ever see totals.
